Environmental Information, Advice and Grant Support
Green Start
Green Start is an Enterprise Ireland information and advisory service that assists client companies to meet and exceed regulatory requirements and improve efficiency through eco-efficiency assessments, site audits and technical advice. As part of this service the time and experience of Enterprise Ireland technology and environmental management specialists is availabel free of charge. The Green Start service aims to highlight and demonstrate the potential environmental and business benefits for a company as a result of improved environmental and eco-sustainabile practices. This can involve
- identifying and liaising with an interrnal champion in your company
- Assessing areas for improvement in water, waste and energy
- Training on frameworks for environmental management
- Information and connections to other agency services e.g. Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), Greenbusiness etc.

Enterprise Ireland also manages an environmental information portal designed to enhance environmental awareness and improve performance in Irish industry. You will find information on a range of important topics including legislation and regulations, waste management and recycling, eco-design and carbon management.
Environmental Improvement Funding from Enterprise Ireland
Environmental Improvement Assignments
Under the Enterprise Ireland Business Process Improvement Grant, client companies can apply for funding towards the cost of undertaking an Environmental Improvement Assignment.
Environmental Improvement assignments are designed to assist company managers to develop their environmental management capabilities, drive environmental efficiencies and achieve improved sustainability. Eligible assignments may include
- Understanding and embedding improved environmental management practices in your company,
- Assessing and applying international environmental best practices and standards
- Other process improvements with the potential to increase your company's environmental sustainability, minimise material and resource costs, minimise waste (water, energy, materials) and lead to imoproved company competitieness.
Improvement projects must address a clear business need and deliver a positive impact on your business. Assignments may vary in size and scope but will typically be completed within six months and will not exceed a total project cost of €70,000. Technical Feasibility Grant
The Enterprise Ireland Technical Feasibility Grant and be used to assist companies to undertake a teachnical feasibility study aimed at investigating the techncial aspects of introducing or developing new or improved products, technologies, services or processes that are environmentally superior.
