17.05.2012 Taoiseach Announces 37 New Jobs at Galway Software Firm Copperfasten Technologies

EI logoCopperfasten, an Irish software company that produces internet security solutions, today announced that it will create 37 new jobs supported by Enterprise Ireland in Galway. The expansion is based on new investment of €500k by Oyster Technology Investments Ltd and Enterprise Ireland. The investment will help fund a significant export-led growth plan that is forecast to more than treble sales over the next 3 years. EI logoEducation in Ireland has announced the appointment of leading Irish cricketer Kevin O’Brien to help promote Ireland as a destination for world class education to young Indian students. India is a key growth market for Education in Ireland - in excess of 150,000 Indian students travel overseas each year to take up full-time taught postgraduate programmes. Enterprise IrelandOver 30 Irish telecoms and wireless companies are travelling to New Orleans, Louisiana with Enterprise Ireland this week to participate in this year’s CTIA Wireless Conference 2012 on May 8-10. The show is expected to attract over 40,000 attendees. EI logoIrish animal feed company, Connolly’s RED MILLS, has become the first in the world to secure a licence to import horse feed into mainland China. The Department of Agriculture signed the agreement for the animal feed licence with Chinese officials in Beijing during the Agri Services Trade Mission to China being led by Minister for Agriculture, Food and The Marine, Simon Coveney TD. The deal – which is potentially worth several million euros - gives first mover advantage to the Co Kilkenny-based company which now becomes the first and only foreign feed company to be licenced for the import of horse feeds into mainland China. China Access GuideThe Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, will arrive tomorrow in China for a 7-day trade and investment mission organised by Enterprise Ireland and the IDA. The mission will be led by the Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD, from his arrival in China on Sunday next, 25th March 2012. In the intervening period, Minister Bruton will be in Hong Kong and Shenzen.  130 executives from almost 90 Irish companies will accompany the delegation. New Irish Wind Farm Vessel Takes to the SeasArklow Marine Services today officially launched its first vessel designed and built specifically for servicing offshore wind farms in the U.K.  The new 20 metre aluminium catamaran cost £1.7m and created 10 new jobs during the build and fit out.  The development of the innovative vessel was part-financed by Enterprise Ireland’s R&D Fund.
